15 January 2007, Cambodia CAMBODIA - (January 15, 2007) - Resolvo (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. today announced a joint initiative with Sun Microsystems, to launch the Sun Java Professional Certification Program in Cambodia. “Cambodia has a fast growth IT industry in the IndoChina region, and we believe that once the professionally certified pool of IT resources increase, it will further attract more foreign companies to invest here. Resolvo (Cambodia) is currrently the only Authorized Sun Education Center in Cambodia, and jointly with Sun Microsystems, the company is establishing the Resolvo-Sun Java Center of Excellence at various universities and education institutions in Cambodia. Over the next two days, the Resolvo-Sun Java Centers of Excellence will be officially unveiled at the National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC) and the Cambodia-India Entrepreneurship Development Centre (CIEDC), and the company is already in advanced discussion with Build Bright University (BBU). As part of the launch, Resolvo (Cambodia) is going on a roadshow at NPIC, BBU & CIEDC with guest speakers from Sun Microsystems and Institute of Technical Education, Singapore, to present on the theme: Sun Java Everywhere in Action. According to Mr Yap, more Resolvo-Sun Java Centers of Excellence are expected to be established at other universities that have already indicated interests. The Resolvo-Sun Java Center of Excellence will deliver the Sun Java Professional Certification Program, specially designed to develop budding IT professionals to their fullest potential in Java as well as mobile applications development. The training in the program will help create and build on possibilities in the global economies for students. As part of the Sun Developer Network (SDN), students who graduate from this program will be able to join the million-plus developers around the world who are connected to the benefits of SDN.Accreditied and recognised internationally, the program is targeted at university students, budding IT professionals, past graduates and individuals seeking a career switch. This is also in line with the company’s mission to create opportunities for tertiary students and adult learners to acquire skills, knowledge and values for lifelong learning in a global economy. “We are very pleased to be working with Sun Microsystems and education partners to launch this world-class Java program. At the end of the course, students will have to pass a Multiple-Choice-Questions examination conducted by Resolvo (Cambodia). Upon passing the examination and completion of all the modules of the program, they will be awarded the globally recognized Sun Certified Java Programmer certificate as well as the Sun Java Professional Certificate of Completion from Sun Microsystems, along with 3 module completion certificates from Singapore's Institute of Technical Education, and access to the Sun Developer Network. Under the program, Sun certified Java instructors will conduct 80 hours of instructor-led lessons with 40 hours of free lab access at Authorised Java Centers of Excellence. The top 10% of students in each course run will be offered industrial internship opportunities with Resolvo (Cambodia), whereby interns will be exposed to industrial projects to build up their experience and resume. “This program gives us an opportunity to engage students who desire not just to have a chance at improving career prospects with a global expertise, but also a chance at plugging into the global network for sharing.” said Mr Yap. “This will be enabled through industrial internship, as well as membership to the Sun Developer Network.” Resolvo (Cambodia) will kickstart the Sun Java Professional Certification Program in Cambodia with a promotion offer, which is valid till 28 February 2007.
